This week our Year 12 students have been working extremely hard performing their devised practical examination pieces.
With performances in the evening, one group did so in the Seckford Theatre, while the other took the opportunity to perform in our very own Chapel, which this year celebrates 100 years since being built.
Inspired by the methodologies of Gecko Theatre Company, the first piece, The Newlyweds, explored the theme of displacement, focusing on a journey from Afghanistan to Turkey in the midst of war.
The site-specific piece in the Chapel, The Woman behind the Witch, was inspired by Kneehigh Theatre Company and explored the traumatic events of the 17th century East Anglian witch trials.
The students worked incredibly hard and Ms Mayes reports that they should all be extremely proud of themselves. Next week our Year 11 students will also be taking their exams so we wish them luck!
