Our Drama department and students fell in love with this show so much last year, that the decision was made to take Year 10′ students to see Guys and Dolls at The Bridge Theatre last week.
Everyone had a great time, being taken along the streets of New York into the clubs of Havana, accompanied by fantastic song and dance – students even had the chance to have a boogie with the cast at the end!
It was another wonderful trip, with a wonderful group of students. Year 10’s Margot shared her thoughts from the evening.
Margot, Year 10
Friday night saw Year 10 Drama and Music students captivated, en masse, by the astonishing production of Guys and Dolls at the Bridge Theatre in London.
Personally, I believe this to be one of the best musicals I have ever seen. As a musician, I was especially looking forward to seeing the band, but was immediately enthralled by the incredible performance of the cast.
As soon as we walked in we were transported to 1930s New York, even the food sold was on theme. We had the privilege of standing adjacent to the stage, which constantly transformed shape. The proximity to the eye-catching costumes, the plethora of neon lighting and the sheer excitement of being that close to the characters was mesmerizing.
We were completely immersed in the spectacle and enveloped in the fantastic playing of the live band. A truly fantastic trip.
