Last week the U11 A team went to Framlingham College for a day of cricket. The morning session was tough playing the eventual winners Langley and a strong team from Town Close. This put then into the plate competition. After two exciting games against Barnardiston Hall and Holmwood House the event finished with all three teams on equal points. The Abbey were declared the plate winners due to a superior run rate. Well done to Alex, James, Henry, Ed, Josh, Felix, Jimmy and George.
This Wednesday the A and B cricket teams finished off the season with good wins over Barnadiston. The A team bowled well with Henry Tetley, Josh Turner and George Na Nakhon all taking wickets. Henry Shaw also bowled a great final over. A good partnership between and Alex Barker (39) and James Williams (40) meant the Abbey finished winning by 9 wickets.
The B team fielded first and were set a tough total of 107. Good bowling from Henry Vincent stopped the opposition getting a really big total. Henry then went on to score 55 not out supported by good innings from Henry Allen and Daniel Jones.
Well done to all the boys who played this season and good luck with your club matches over the summer.
