Sports Day 2023

30 Jun 23

Our annual Sports Day took place in School this week on Wednesday, with kind weather in comparison to the scorching sunshine of late, although still a warm day! Students were ready, willing and of course as anticipated, very competitive; and our parents and friends of the School provided wonderful support and encouragement for every athlete.

It was a day of great athletics, personal bests and enjoyment as students took part, supported one another and represented their houses celebrating their own and each other’s successes.

The Victor Ludorum and Victrix Ludorum results were as follows:

  • Year 7 Boys: Frank
  • Year 7 Girls: Eriann
  • Year 8 Girls: Georgia
  • Year 8 Boys: Oliver
  • Year 9 Boys: Arthur
  • Year 9 Girls: Lyrah
  • Year 10 Girls: Georgia
  • Year 10 Boys: Oser
  • Senior Boys: Abdullah
  • Senior Girls: Ada

House Results were as follows:

  • Burwell: 1,297
  • Seckford: 1,244
  • Annott: 1,085
  • Willard: 902

Well done to all of the competitors for giving their all, and many thanks to all of the staff involved on the day and in the lead up to Sports Day, as well as our parents for supporting. No records were broken this year but several came close particularly Layo who was only 0.03 seconds outside the 100m record time from 2005, a great run.

We’d like to wish Year 7’s Eirann and Frank, and Year 8’s Romilly and Felicity good luck for Monday 3 July when they compete for the East Region in the National Prep School athletics Championships in Nuneaton. We’d also like to wish Year 11’s Nancy the best of luck as she’ll be competing for Suffolk on 30 June and 1 July in Birmingham, in the English Schools Track and Field Championships.

A link to Sports Day photography and the access code will be shared with parents privately.
