Positivity from PAWS-itivity at Woodbridge School

30 May 23

Woodbridge School is proud to be sponsoring the PAWS-itivity Labrador sculpture ‘Atticus’ as part of the Suffolk Libraries largest ever fundraising campaign to remind us how much positivity a library can bring. The campaign also aims to raise awareness of Suffolk Libraries as a charity that nurtures and supports communities.

PAWS-itivity will see over 40 Labrador dog sculptures, which have been individually created by local artists, revealed for the first time at the Suffolk Show on 31 May and 1 June (Stand 462), the Labradors will then be exhibited in libraries across summer throughout the summer.

Woodbridge School’s Labrador has been created by Sharon Teague, a local graphic designer and artist, and is based on the Anthony Horowitz book ‘Magpie Murders’ in which Woodbridge School features. ‘Atticus’ will be at Woodbridge Library throughout the summer for all to see.

All Labradors will then be sold at an evening auction at Trinity Park on 12 October, with funds raised helping to deliver a range of support offered by Suffolk Libraries including nurturing literacy as well as improving health and wellbeing.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Nicola Mitchell Head of Woodbridge School Prep said:

“Our School community is thrilled to have the opportunity to support this initiative and fundraising campaign. The School, including our own Assistance Dog Barney who is also a Labrador, regularly visits and uses Woodbridge Library, and we cannot wait to see our very own Labrador sculpture in place for all to see.”
