The J2 hockey team had a very well deserved 3-2 win over Felsted. This was the team’s best performance against quality opponents. It was an open match with both teams playing attractive hockey and creating chances. In total Woodbridge had the better of the chances but was denied several times by the Felsted goalkeeper.
Daniel Norman combined well with Daniel Davies throughout the match and the duo created good chances. Daniel Davies finally snuck one in under the goalie’s pads to put Woodbridge 1-0 up. Felsted came back and capitalised on a lapse in marking. 1-1 at half time, Woodbridge was disappointed that they have let Felsted back into the game.
In the second half George Rufford scored a brilliant sweep into the net after a perfect ball in by George Barker. Felsted came back once more to make the score 2-2. Toby McNally and Joshua Graves were stars at the back and distributed particularly well. They will learn from the few marking errors.
George Barker, who had his second outstanding match in a row, scored a cracking shot that was unstoppable by the on-form goalkeeper to seal the win for Woodbridge.
Players of the match: Daniel Norman for solid midfield play; George Barker for displaying excellent work rate, good overall skill and top decision making.
