Marathon Congratulations for Students and Staff

26 Apr 24

Last weekend saw people young and old from around the world taking part in the London Marathon.  We were incredibly proud to have many children from our Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior School taking part, as well as the Head of Woodbridge School Prep Mrs Mitchell and our Director of Finance Mr Stafford.

Mini Marathon

Inviting schools to bring their children and young people to run, jog, walk or wheel one mile or 2.6K in the heart of London, ahead of the TCS London Marathon last weekend, the TCS Mini London Marathon took place on Saturday 20 April.

Everyone was very excited, not only to be taking part but to be in the heart of London surrounded by the sights and sounds of this wonderful city – it was an incredible atmosphere and remarkable event to be a part of!

Congratulations to all of the students who took part, representing themselves and the School impeccably it was a wonderful achievement for them to part of something so special.

Special mention to Year 8’s Digby, who took part representing the East region, finishing in 43rd place.

Sunday’s Marathon Event

Having spent weeks and months training for the 26 mile event, our Head of Woodbridge School Prep Mrs Mitchell did incredibly well running her first marathon.  Not only did she achieve a run time of 5 hours and 8 minutes, she raised over £5,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support charity.

Running his tenth marathon, Mr Stafford our Director of Finance celebrated a new personal best with a time of 3 hours, 2 minutes and 46 seconds – another incredible achievement.

Congratulations to everyone that took part, having confirmed that over 50,000 people took part last Sunday, a new record for the event, over £67million was raised for charity.  Absolutely wonderful.
