Equestrian Success – February 2024
During half term Team Woodbridge had a very successful Thursday at Suffolk Rural College for the Arena Eventing Hickstead qualifiers. Our teams comprised of the following riders:
- Year 6’s Tati
- Year 8’s Grace
- Year 9’s Edie
- Year 9’s Harry
- Year 9’s Zac
- Year 10’s Elodie
- Year 11’s Lois
- Year 13’s Katie
The day began with Year 6’s Tati winning the warm-up class, closely followed by our team of Lois, Edie, Harry, and Elodie winning the 70-75cm class, with Lois taking 1st place and Edie 2nd.
The 80-85cm team also won with the top three individual places being awarded to Woodbridge riders. Elodie look 1st place, Harry 2nd, Katie 3rd and Grace 6th.
Grace then went on to take 2nd place in the 90-95cm class riding Malin Spike, her first time stepping up to this height with a fantastic round; the team of Lois, Grace, Zac and Edie finished in 3rd place.
Katie finished the day with a 2nd place in the 1m-1.05cm, with her pony Grannus Top Dollar.
Well done to all the riders, they should be incredibly proud of themselves as all the qualifiers rode clear rounds. Our 70-75cm and 80-85cm teams qualified for Hickstead in May, as did Grace for the 90-95cm individual and Katie for 1m-105cm individual.
