As our Cross Country teams look forward to the upcoming first round of the Area Schools Cross Country at Royal Hospital School next week, we stop to take a look back at last weekend’s result at the National Road Relays.
Those who saw our report from the Southerns will know that Year 8’s Alexandra and India J headed up to Sutton Park in Birmingham to compete for their club in the infamous National Road Relays. The latest edition of the England Running Association multi-stage race has a decorated history going back to 1967, and is one of the biggest events in the athletics calendar drawing to it many national champions, international athletes and world record holders.
The Bury St Edmunds Pacers U13 team of three runners, which included Alexandra and India J, powered to third place beating their previous rivals Brentwood AC, who were the only team to beat them at the Southerns. The girls have worked incredibly hard with determination and consistency to fully deserve this result.
